What is Primal Speed?
Primal Speed is dedicated to teaching the art and skill of sprint training. Make no doubt about it, the primary objective of Primal Speed is to teach and coach people about the importance of learning to sprint in the most efficient and graceful way possible.
As the human race becomes less active our ability to run fast and move well is diminishing. Sadly, few people know the basic principles of running and furthermore do not possess the motor control (stability) or horsepower or skill (coordination) to sprint.
We believe SPRINTING is the ultimate expression of full body explosive power and is an essential skill for all sports as well as optimal orthopedic, neurological and hormonal health. The ability to move your body fast has always been necessary to catch prey or to evade predators.
Regardless of your age or fitness goal, we believe all humans must learn the art of running, with sprinting being the ultimate goal. We are not trying to turn everyone into track & field competitors (thought that’s a great option for some!) and are using sprinting for health and fundamental fitness development, not for competition which is quite different in its goals.
Although many competitive athletes are fit, they are not necessarily healthy. We are interested in “health” first, and performance second. This should never be forgotten as it is a key tenet of the entire Primal Speed system.
